Trusting God?

Trusting God?

How can I trust God? It is easy to trust when things are going well. Exalting Him, worshiping Him, praising Him, and praying to Him are so easy and faces no hurdles to trust God. Are we able to be in the same position when things are not going well? Some of us lost our loved ones recently, some lost jobs, some struck in a place not able to travel, financial difficulties, not able pay rent, tuition fees and struggling to cover our living expenses, and so on. Though we experienced His grace in the past multiple times, can we trust God through these tough situations? When there is no money left in a bank account, questions are flooding how I am going support in the upcoming days when my income stopped and seeing no positive outcomes in the future? Personally, I question God, I doubt him and mostly frustrated. I become vulnerable, restless, and anxious at all times.

On the one hand, He is merciful, gracious, loving, and unchanging God. Why it is so hard many times for us to trust him with all our hearts regardless of our circumstances? On the other hand, our difficult times make us run toward Him for help. We understand our helpless condition and realize we need help. Why we cannot trust Him when He sent His only Son Jesus to this earth as a human? Jesus replaced us. He was judged for us on our iniquities. Our sin caused Jesus an injustice so that we get judged and acquitted from God’s wrath. God becoming man and dying for us in our place? Why He had to do it then? He knew that we cannot rescue ourselves. Again, can we trust God?

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV)
